IFS Bulletin: Updated Customs Tariff Codes come into force

customs declaration form on envelope

We’re reaching out to our valued customers with an important update.

A new version of the EU Combined Nomenclature for 2025 (also known as “the Tariff”) has been published and has come into force as of January 1, 2025. The UK is following suit with the EU to maintain dynamic alignment.

The Tariff is used for the classification of goods for all imports and exports. As such a change may have an impact on the classification of your products. Therefore, it is important to verify whether these changes are relevant to business.

The correct codes must be used when filing customs declarations. Incorrect codes can lead to customs delays, fines or problems in an audit.
